Geotechnical Services

  1. ENGINEERING SUBSOIL INVESTIGATION: OGCS uses the latest design methods and comprehensive knowledge base on soil and structure performance to provide safe and cost-efficient solutions for our clients. We undertake subsoil investigations which are of fundamental importance to the continued stability of engineering structures, on short or long term basis. Infrastructures such as industrial, public or private buildings, roads, highways, railways, airports, bridges, dams e.t.c require appropriate subsoil pre-investigation before their designs can be constructed. Neglecting such investigations may result in future collapse and failure of such structures. Our in-depth investigation comprises the drilling of boreholes for strata identification and sample recovery for subsequent laboratory testing, the performance of Dutch Cone Penetrometer soundings and in special cases, performance of ground-based geophysical soundings. These allow for comprehensive correlation and determination of relevant engineering parameters of the rocks and soil tested.
  1. FOUNDATION PILING WORKS: Grounds which have weak soils layers up to significant depths are inappropriate to bear the load of heavy duty structures. Piles are the engineering devices which allow for construction of such heavy structures without fear of structural failure. Structures such as industrial complexes, communication masts, flyover bridges e.t.c require appropriate pile suited to the respective subsoil properties or conditions. The Company undertakes the construction of various standard pile designs appropriate to the needs of the proposed structure.
  2. CONSTRUCTION OF PILE CAPS AND BEAMS: The essential need to accurately position superstructures on piles is of major concern in the infrastructure industry. Hence, to achieve total excellent results, our clients take advantage of our technological expertise backed with years of experience, to construct necessary pile caps and allied structures such as ground beams or slabs that are in perfect conformance to the structure design.
  3. VIBROFLOTATION COMPACTION/SOIL STABILIZATION: This is a soil improvement technique used to achieve a desired engineering property in sandy soil. It involves vibrating loose sandy soil from surface to significant depths in order to achieve several times their natural in-situ density.
  4. DREDGING: Flooding occurs as a result of blocked waterways and uneven deposition of materials. Our dredging services provide solutions to clients related to waterway clearing, sand stockpiling and sand filling operations.
  5. HORZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING (HDD) MACHINE: This is a method of installing underground pipelines, cables and service conduit through trenchless methods in a relatively shallow arc or radius along a prescribed underground path using a surface-launched drilling rig. It involves the use of a directional drilling machine, and associated attachments, to accurately drill along the chosen bore path and back ream the required pipe.

Geo-science Services

  1. OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION:
  • Processing and interpretation of seismic and well log data using Geolog, Petrel, PowerLog, Geographics and Kingdom suite. Our services include:
  • formation evaluation
  • reservoir characterization
  • petrophysical well studies.
  1. MINERAL EXPLORATION: The search and development for mineral resources are facilitated by the experience and advanced techniques employed by our highly specialized geoscientists. These services include mapping of favorable host structure, delineation of mineralized zone, location of radioactive sources. A wide range of equipment and software programs to achieve a successful mineral exploration programme are readily available for deployment when necessary.
  2. GEOLOGICAL MAPPING: The magnetometer is typically used to resource inventory mapping surveys, mineral exploration and structural mapping for petroleum surveys. The Company offers geological mapping services to assist in delineating areas with limited outcrop. Using Magnetics method, the underlying structure can be mapped to depths up to several kilometers to assist the petroleum geologist in planning follow-up seismic surveys.
  3. PRE-DRILLING SURVEYS: In all our drilling services and exploration activities, clients take the advantage of allowing OGCS a pre-drilling survey to verify presence of mineral resources or presence of appropriate soil layer for infrastructure foundation. Using our advanced geo-electric equipment and software, the Company provides accurate and detailed information on subsurface characteristics before drilling.

Drilling and Water Treatment Services

  1. WATER BOREHOLE CONSTRUCTION: OGCS executes drilling projects directed towards exploring the water resource in the subsurface. We complete the borehole to meet our client’s specifications, delivering high quality groundwater and additional expert analysis, if required, to suit client’s purpose. The Company has executed projects nationwide overcoming challenges especially in low water-table regions and basement complex regions. Our ever increasing experience and advanced techniques provide excellent success where others have failed.
  2. RE-ACTIVATION AND MAINTENANCE OF WATER BOREHOLES: OGCS delivers water services task by combining the expertise from the key disciplines of geology, geophysics and civil engineering to rejuvenate old and existing wells and boreholes. These services guarantee the reliability and longevity of such wells.
  3. LAYING OF PIPES AND IRRIGATION WORKS: To further our objective in providing mineral resources wherever they are needed. OGCS undertakes water engineering services to transport water to areas where it is needed through irrigation means. Our pipe engineers possess specialized skills needed to achieve a properly detailed plan to achieve effective results suited to client’s satisfaction.
  4. WATER AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT: Our chemical and biological expertise personnels make use of state of the art laboratory materials and technique to analyze, recommend and provide materials needed to carry out a successful water treatment programme. Effluent discharge treatment provides an opportunity for the company to make the environment safer in collaboration with the client. Hence, we apply the best industry practices in analyzing and executing projects of this nature.
  5. CONSTRUCTION OF OVERHEAD TANKS AND RESERVOIR: In addition to our services in getting water to reach farms to be easily transported for industrial use e.t.c, we construct overhead tanks and reservoirs to enhance, as well as, deliver an excellent client satisfaction.

Environmental Services

  1. POLLUTION CONTROL, REMEDIATION AND EIA STUDIES: OGCS has a solid reputable track record of helping clients and government agencies assess environmental impacts of many important projects which are strongly required to meet standard environmental policies and regulations for remediation planning. Our professional team of expertise is made up of specialized consultants in the industry and academia to deliver the highest quality of services to our clients. Our team is made up of individuals who have worked with regulatory agencies and international clients well enough to provide excellent services to our clients in meeting standard environmental assessment requirements.

Between 2021 and 2023 OGCS made a major breakthrough in environmental assessment and monitoring in a pollution site in OGONILAND (Kegbara-Dere), which involves the development of a “4D ERT Model” for characterization of the pollution dynamics of the site for cost-effective remediation planning. This project is reputed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria

  1. LANDFILL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION/WASTE MANAGEMENT: OGCS environmental services designs landfills and waste recycle plants based on professional recommendations provided by our team of experts, on appropriateness of site among other factors. We also provide waste treatment services such as solid, industrial, domestic and hazardous waste treatments, including toxicity analysis services to all levels of energy, manufacturing and production sectors. As part of our management services, we also develop and supervise training and compliance programs for pollution control.
  2. CONTAMINATED SITE ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION WORKS: Our Company undertakes site investigations, hazardous waste site cleanups, industrial cleaning of tanks, pipelines, element holding tanks, line purges, underground and above ground tank inspection, tank repairs, cleaning, de-activation and removal, drum excavation, handling and cleaning, confined entries and work in enclosed areas. We also carry out excavation of contaminated soil, sediments and sludges, on-site biological and chemical treatment of soil, on-site recovery and treatment of contaminated groundwater.
  3. EROSION CONTROL WORKS: OGCS provides full range of service in all aspects of erosion works based on our experience and advanced understanding of terrain analysis and landform evolution. We provide excellent solutions to varied erosion problems which includes construction of sewers and drainage canals.
